Bill Kontzias has specialized in location corporate photography since 1981. He's been commissioned by corporations, graphic designers and publications, traveling throughout the USA and Europe photographing people, places and products.
As a studio assistant for Francesco Scavullo, Bill enhanced his awareness and insight for his speciality lighting. He was a key part of this fashion and celebrity studio over a three year period.
Also, he assisted Bill King and Bert Stern on several advertising and editorial photography projects. His professional photography expertise is rooted in celebrity portraiture and fashion photography.
Bill began his professional free lance photography career with Massimo Vignelli Associates where he turned his creative eye, lighting, and camera skills towards photographing interior architecture, design, and people.
He conceptualized, designed and photographed an international, critically acclaimed children's book - LOOK and SEE - published by Holiday House in 2014. It was translated into Japanese in 2015.
Holiday House will publish Bill's second children's book - LOOK and READ - in 2018.
Bill is presently exploring still life ideas for a third book that could include animation of the still life imagery, and, his on-going photography of people, places and the human drama.
Since 2000, he has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Communications Design Department at Pratt Institute.
